The following assignments are designed to support your understanding of teaching throughout the internship. Assignments will be assessed using a 3-point grading rubric.

 

PRIOR TO INTERNSHIP (SUMMER 2017)

 

FALL 2017 ASSIGNMENTS

  • Fall Class Schedule - emailed to your University Supervisor on or before the first Friday of semester

    • Include the day/time that you and your University Supervisor have designated for bi-weekly communication

  • Master Teacher Observation/Reflection - webform due on or before November 10

    • Select a teacher (from any discipline) who has a track record of excellence and observe his/her classroom instruction for a minimum 40 minutes; can be conducted during your conference/planning period.
  • Fall Professional Learning Artifact - webform due on or before December 1

 

 

SPRING 2018 ASSIGNMENTS

 

 

ONGOING: RECORD OF 35 HOURS OF PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Professional Development Record must be maintained throughout the school year and submitted by the Intern prior to approval for standard certification.

May be obtained by participating in:

  • required school district/campus professional development activities, such as new teacher induction/orientation, campus staff development days
  • required Accelerate Online professional development activities
    1. Dyslexia Training
    2. Mental Health Training (provided by TAMU during the fall semester)
    3. PPR Practice Test
  • other professional trainings, conferences, etc. in which you are sent by the campus/district

Staff workdays may not be included. 

 

 

ONGOING: UNIVERSITY SUPERVISOR OBSERVATIONS & INTERN REFLECTIONS

  • Minimum of four (4) formal observations during the year; two (2) per semester
  • Scheduled by the University Supervisor
  • Face-to-face conference to follow each observation
  • University Supervisor will email written feedback within two (2) business days via CEHD Data Portal system
  • Intern will complete reflection questions within two (2) business days of receipt via CEHD Data Portal system
  • Each observation and Intern reflection will be emailed to the supervising school administrator and Accelerate Online
