University Supervisor Application

This application is for the role of University Supervisor for Accelerate Online, an alternative teacher certification program affiliated with with the Department of Teaching, Learning and Culture at at Texas A&M University.  Please review the qualifications and expectations for TLAC University Supervisors below. 

Supervisor Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree

  • 3 years teaching experience

  • hold a current Texas teaching certificate

  • experience mentoring new teachers

  • commitment for one academic year

  • complete T-TESS Field Supervisor training 

Expectations of University Supervisors:

  • complete online University Supervisor training 

  • conduct an Intern Support Team (IST) meeting before or withn the first 3 weeks of the school year

  • observe and provide feedback to the Intern regarding teaching, planning, management, and professionalism (minimum of four formal 45-minute observations)

  • act as a liaison between the school campus/district, Intern and the Accelerate Online - TAMU office


  • We offer $500.00 per intern per school year (divided into 2 payments of $250.00 in December and June).

Description of Internship:

  • Interns are hired by the school district under a probationary certificate for a full school year; they are considered the teacher of record and have the same responsibilities, duties, pay, and benefits of any first year teacher
